You can now assign bills to customers in Xero!
This makes it easier to allocate expenses occurred during a job to the correct customer.

When creating a bill to pay onto Xero there is an option to ‘assign the bill to a customer’. You can assign each transaction of the bill to different customers if needed. When you then create the invoice for said customer it gives an option of ‘billable expenses can be added’. Choosing this and selecting which expenses you wish to add and selecting either add as one item or as separate items if there is multiple.
This allocates the bills chosen and brings them into the invoice which, reduces the risk of forgetting to include an expense when writing up invoices.
