Tip: How to pay your tax
12th January 2023The 31st January payment deadline is fast approaching.
Here are some tips to ensure you get your payments to HMRC on time:
- HMRC accepts payments on date of payment rather than date it reaches their account
- You can pay via the secure HMRC App
- You can pay via scanning the QR code within your HMRC account on your mobile which will open your online banking
- You CAN’T pay with a personal credit card! There is a fee if you pay by a corporate credit card
- You can pay via, internet banking, telephone banking, faster payments, or CHAPS
- You need your Self-Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference number (UTR) followed by the letter ‘K’ e.g. 1234567890K.
- When setting up HMRC to receive online payments, make sure the select the correct HMRC account (based on the tax you are paying):
