National Minimum Wage and Pension Contributions

Further to the budget announcements at the end of October 2018, rate changes to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) have been confirmed for April 2019. These are in line with the recommendations that were made by the low pay commission.

April 2018 (current rate) | £7.83 | £7.38 | £5.90 | £4.20 | £3.70 |
April 2019 | £8.21 | £7.70 | £6.15 | £4.35 | £3.90 |
Pension Contribution rates are also increasing from 6th April 2019 with total minimum contributions going from 5% to 8%
This means that employees will have to pay a minimum of 5% (previously 3%) and employers 3% (previously 2%)
