IT Business MBO Succession

5th March 2014

IT Business Sold via an MBO.
The corporate finance team at Whitings, specialists in acquiring and selling SME businesses, has recently supported their IT software client to move forward with new ownership.
Andrew Winearls, on behalf of the corporate finance department at the Suffolk based firm, was enlisted by the minority shareholders at the firm, who were looking to take the helm now that the primary shareholder was retiring. As well as entering into negotiations on the client’s behalf, and dealing with the tax considerations of the deal, Andrew also arranged for the purchasers to undertake MBO training, led by Chairman of The CFN, Kirsty McGregor.
With the deal successfully completed, the new owners are looking forward to maximising the potential of the business moving forward.
