Our charities team works with a wide variety of clients, from smaller organisations requiring bookkeeping and management accounts support through to larger charities requiring independent examinations and audits. What you’ll be doing day‑to‑day
As our Charities Manager, you’ll take ownership of delivering high‑quality work while supporting colleagues and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Your role will include:
- Managing a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients
- Overseeing and preparing accounts in line with Charity SORP and relevant regulations
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping and management accounts
- Leading independent examinations and charity audits
- Providing technical advice on complex charity matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Working closely with clients, understanding how their organisations operate and tailoring your approach to support their needs
- Managing and developing team members, reviewing work and providing guidance
- Maintaining regular communication with clients, reviewing work and providing guidance
- Involvement in the firms Charities and Not-For-Profits firmwide group, ensuring cohesion and efficiency in approach and compliance across the firm, including consideration of group wide CPD requirements
Who we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Are ACCA/ACA qualified with at least 2 years’ post‑qualification experience (qualified by experience candidates will be considered)
- Have solid experience working within practice with charities and not-for-profit organisations
- Have a solid technical background and confidence dealing with complex charity matters
- Have experience in auditing charities and not-for-profits
- Communicate confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues
- Are experienced in leading, mentoring or managing team members
- Are self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage deadlines effectively
- Work well both independently and as part of a close, collaborative team
- Are confident using remote working tools such as Teams to manage client relationships and team cohesion (particularly if working remotely)
- CCH Charities Accounts Production experience is desirable but not essential
