Fraser Dawbarns Charity Ely Treasure Hunt
28th May 2026
On 20th May, two Whitings teams took part in the Fraser Dawbarns Charity Ely Treasure Hunt, raising funds for the Cambridge and Ely Child Contact Centres.
The event began at The Almonry with refreshments, before teams set off on a roughly one-mile route around Ely. Armed with clues, we searched high and low for answers spotting everything from street names and architectural details to post box markings and snippets of local history. A well timed halfway stop at The Cutter Inn provided an opportunity to tackle some anagrams before the final push back to The Almonry.
After some well-earned refreshments at the finish line, attention turned to the results. Excitement mounted as the competition ended in a four-way tie, with both Whitings teams making it through to the play offs. A Connect 4 tiebreaker would decide the winner.

Ninja Numbers (Ian Piper, Rebecca Marley, Ellen Carter and Jasmine Smith) selected Ian as their champion. Whitings Tax Tycoons (Nick Edgley, Sheryl Lewis, Angelica Ferentinos and George Kulish) put forward George. Both competitors progressed confidently to the final, where George emerged victorious after a tense showdown.

A fantastic result for Whitings—taking both 1st and 2nd place—and a great day had by all for a worthy cause.
