2026 Charity Rounders Tournament

Our Bury office took part in the annual rounders tournament, in support of the Lovewell Blake Community Fund. Our team was made up of Sarah Lockhart-White, Rob Dedman, Robert Smith, Shamus Chaplin, Harry Warner and Dom Freeman.

We were slightly short on players, but not on spirit! We were kindly given some additional players from other teams to make up numbers. In the first round we faced The KBB Centre (planning and installation of Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms), followed by Everywhen (insurance brokers, formally known as Towergate). Sarah was willing to put herself in harm’s way to stop a ball helping to ensure we topped our group for the first round.

Sadly, our moment of glory was short lived. Having topped our group, our next opponents were Churchgates (Accountants, solicitors, tax advisers, investment managers and financial planners). Much like England, we were good in the early stages and ended up losing by one point. The early exit meant we could catch our breath and have some food, provided by Bad Boi Burritos. We watched the final take place between Lovewell Blake (more accountants) and NXTGen Recruitment Ltd (recruiters). NXTGen went on to win the tournament.

Overall, it was an enjoyable evening and a great excuse to be out in the sun. From ticket sales, raffle and match funding from Lovewell Blake a total of just under £3,000 was raised for the event.

We now have a year until recruitment and training start again, as we aim to win the illusive trophy!
