Recognising the People and Businesses Behind Fenland’s Success
On Friday 13th March, I attended the 2026 Fenland Citizen Business Awards. Along with my colleagues, we represented the Whitings Group as Headline Sponsors of the event.
We are proud to support an event that celebrates Fenland’s business community. Hearing the stories behind the finalists and winners highlighted just how much innovation, commitment and social impact exists across the Fenland region, much of it driven quietly, without fanfare, by people deeply committed to their communities.
Whitings Prestige Award
The Whitings Prestige Award presented by Whitings LLP Associate, Mike Blackledge was a particular highlight for us. This was awarded to The Ferry Project, and recognised the exceptional scale of their work supporting homeless people across Wisbech and the surrounding area.
Business of the Year
I had the pleasure of judging and presenting the Business of the Year award again this year. Congratulations to the thoroughly deserving winners, The Blackberries Childcare Group. Their commitment to quality, care and long-term support for families truly sets them apart.
Backing Local Enterprise
The Whitings Group has deep roots across Fenland and East Anglia, and supporting local enterprise is a natural extension of that commitment. Events like these shine a light on the businesses, charities and individuals who strengthen our region’s economy and community.
