2025 Student Training Morning

2025 Student Training Morning attendees at Whitings LLP 25th September 2025

On Wednesday 24th September, we were delighted to welcome 19 trainees from across all our offices to our Ely office for an introductory training session. The event was designed to provide an overview of the AAT, ACA, and ACCA training programmes available through the firm, and to help our new starters feel informed and supported as they begin their professional journey.

The session began with a warm welcome and introduction to Whitings from our Chairman, Chris Ridgeon. This was followed by an engaging presentation from Jordan Osborne, Business Development Manager at AAT, who shared a detailed and realistic insight into the qualification process. Jordan’s talk was both informative and encouraging, offering valuable guidance on what trainees can expect.

Next, Emily Haines, Senior Manager at our Bury St Edmunds office, spoke candidly about her own career path within the firm. She highlighted the transition from AAT to ACCA and offered helpful advice on navigating the step up to the next level.

After a well-earned break (complete with cake!), Ben Bullman from First Intuition delivered the final presentation. As head of the tutor team, Ben brought great energy and clarity to the session, covering everything from course structure and student support to safeguarding and even the dress code. His approachable style and thorough overview were very well received.

The day concluded with plenty of smiles, a clearer understanding of the training journey ahead—and of course, a goody bag filled with chocolate and key contacts for ongoing support.
