Xerocon London 2017

11th October 2017

Two fantastic days at Xerocon London on 4th and 5th October as 2000 attendees from 24 countries descended on the ExCel, the annual event for Xero Partners. Over the two days, four of our staff: Tom Carter, Dan Coleman, Steph Tinkler and Chip Moore attended the event. It was an opportunity to learn about new developments in Xero, meet Xero Add-on Partners, hear from several thought leaders and network with peers.

A line-up of Xero leaders took to the stage alongside technologists, journalists, authors, financial technology leaders and accounting partners. It was with the promise of a reimagined roadmap and a vision of accounting for the future. This year, the big topic was artificial intelligence and machine learning. Based on what has already been achieved we can expect to see some ground breaking new services over the next few years.

However, on the other hand “To be human is to be beautiful.” The vision for the future is not just a technological one; it is people within your business who will help affect big change. Accountants and bookkeepers are set to play a pivotal role as the most trusted advisors coming into this period of change, including economic and regulatory considerations such as Brexit, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Making Tax Digital (MTD) and The Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2).
