COVID-19: Implementation of VAT Reverse Charge on Construction Services – Delayed

8th June 2020

HMRC has announced that the domestic reverse charge on constructions services, which is due to come into effect on 1 October 2020 has been delayed until 1 March 2021.  This will be welcome news as it provides businesses with additional time to prepare for the introduction of these new rules.

At Whiting & Partners we are doing everything we can to help ease the burden you and your business are under during these worrying and uncertain times.  If you would like to speak to someone about the VAT reverse charge on construction services please reach out to your usual Whiting & Partners contact.

HMRC’s Business Brief on the delay can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/revenue-and-customs-brief-7-2020-domestic-reverse-charge-vat-for-construction-services-delay-in-implementation/revenue-and-customs-brief-7-2020-domestic-reverse-charge-vat-for-construction-services-delay-in-implementation
