Contact Us About MTD for IT

19th May 2026

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD for IT) is one of the biggest changes to the UK tax system in decades. From April 2026, many self-employed individuals and landlords will be required to keep digital records and submit regular updates to HMRC.

This shifts businesses away from a single annual tax return to a more regular, digital reporting process.

What’s changing?
Under MTD, you will need to:
  • Keep digital records of your income and expenses
  • Submit updates to HMRC every 3 months
  • Complete a final year-end declaration

The key questions
  • What’s your plan for MTD?
  • Do you have software in place?
  • Who will be completing your submissions?

If you’re unsure, now is the time to get clarity.
