Changes to Advisory Fuel Rates

4th April 2024

Changes to Advisory Fuel Rates – With effect from 1 March 2024, although previous rates can still be used for up to one month after the 1 March. However, the volatility of the price of fuel on the world markets can mean that these rates are already outdated. It is advised to keep monitoring the rates HMRC publish on a regular basis.

Advisory rates for fully electric cars have also risen from 8 pence to 9 pence from the same date. In line with all other advisory rates, moving forward these will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. Hybrid cars are treated as either petrol or diesel for advisory rates.
