After completing his A levels, Matthew began his accountancy career by joining a small two partner practice outside of London. It is here where he expanded his knowledge starting from a junior position moving up to Manager, while also completing his ACCA studies. He became a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2021 and shortly after joined Whitings under a managerial role.
Being in the General Practice department means his work can be diverse across many different business sectors and different client sizes from sole traders to medium sized companies. At Whitings Matthew is also part of the Business Start Up Group, helping newly formed companies comply with HMRC reporting requirements. He is also a part of the MTD Cloud Group which is currently gearing towards the launch of MTD for IT by HMRC.
Outside of work, Matthew has a quiet home life consisting of himself, his partner and his cat Daisie. Matthew is a Chelsea supporter so enjoys watching football, be it on screen or in person. He also enjoys playing a variety of games, whether they’re board games or video games.
Matthew has a passion for traveling and aims to explore as many different countries as he can. Lastly, as a bit of an adrenaline junkie, he has tried activities like skydiving to push his boundaries and satisfy his craving for new and exciting experiences.
