Jo joined the firm in February 2024 as a Corporate Tax Manager based at the Bury St Edmunds office.
She started her accountancy career at a regional firm of accountants. Jo initially completed the AAT qualification and then moved onto ACCA, choosing to specialise in Corporation Tax when she qualified. Jo expanded her corporate tax knowledge working within a top five accountancy firm’s tax team and then an independent firm in Bury St Edmunds where she worked as a manager providing accountancy and tax advice to a varied
portfolio of owner managed businesses of varying sizes including groups.
Jo works across the firm providing advice for companies on all aspects of Corporation Tax compliance including ATED, loans to participators and ensuring that the most beneficial tax reliefs are claimed including capital allowances and group relief.
Jo works closely with Sarah Lockhart-White and Jeannette Hume and her work is expanding to assist Sarah and Jeannette on private company share valuations and other advisory projects.
Outside of work Jo spends time with her family and supports her husband with his plumbing business. She has two grown up children living at home and a Lhasa Apso dog. In Jo’s spare time she takes regular holidays walking in the Lake District, and enjoys reading, baking, and cycling, pilates and circuit training for exercise.
