Ben joined Whitings in October 2021, having previously worked for two smaller firms in the Hertfordshire area whilst completing both the AAT & ACCA qualifications and gaining a wealth of experience in providing accountancy & payroll services. As Manager at the St Ives office he now provides General Practice & VFO Services to a diverse range of clients whilst supporting the team at St Ives with their own personal development.
Being a member of the MTD Group, Ben is always on the lookout for more efficient ways of working by utilising the tools available to us from the likes of Xero, Dext and other SAAS providers as well as ensuring clients are also making good use of these platforms. Recently Ben has also begun exploring the implications of green reporting requirements on SMEs and is reviewing the solutions available to these businesses. Having entered the industry via an apprenticeship himself, Ben is also a keen advocate of providing apprenticeship opportunities to those entering accountancy.
Outside of work Ben spends time with his young family, often taking his daughter to the park or farm. Having recently purchased his first house, he has a never-ending list of DIY tasks that need accomplishing. Despite being the winner of the Wooden Spoon at last year’s Whitings Golf Day, Ben enjoys playing golf, otherwise he is a keen reader and also enjoys following Formula 1.
