Ben joined Whitings LLP in October 2021, having previously worked for two smaller firms in the Hertfordshire area whilst completing both the AAT & ACCA qualifications and gaining a wealth of experience in providing accountancy, tax and payroll services. As Manager at the St Ives office he now provides General Practice and VFO Services to a diverse range of clients.
As a member of our Cloud & Making Tax Digital specialist group, Ben is constantly on the lookout for more efficient ways of working for both clients and Whitings LLP by utilising the tools available from the likes of Xero, Dext and other SaaS providers. Being a recent father of two, Ben is keen to work towards a more sustainable future and has begun exploring the implications of green reporting requirements for SMEs and is reviewing the solutions available to these businesses. Having entered accountancy via an apprenticeship himself, Ben is also a keen advocate of providing apprenticeship opportunities to those coming into the profession and now supports a number of apprentices in various points of their career.
Outside of work Ben enjoys spending time with his young family, having both a daughter and son to keep him plenty busy. Despite previously being the winner of the Wooden Spoon at Whitings Golf Day, Ben does enjoy playing golf when family life allows, otherwise he is a keen reader and closely follows F1 and WRC.
